  • To develop and implement TGL’s communications strategy and manage all aspects of TGL’s external and internal communication needs, including media relations, employee engagement and senior leadership visibility.
  • Act as trusted advisor on external and media related issues, including other aspects that aligns with the protection of Tullow’s image and reputation.
  • To support the delivery of TGL stakeholder engagement objectives through the deployment of the full range of communications activities, delivered in accordance with an agreed strategy and plan.
  • Support External Affairs in telling the exciting journey of Tullow in Ghana, particularly about our operations, EHS, Local Content and CSR interventions.
  • Plan and organize public education and stakeholder engagement activities and to support External Affairs in protecting Tullow’s investment in Ghana and in managing the company’s image and reputation, utilising the latest and most comprehensive approaches, including digital, electronic and traditional

Key Roles And Responsibilities Of Successful Candidate

Internal Communications

Alignment of Internal Stakeholders to Corporate Goals

Develop and implement a winning TGL’s internal communications strategy, in consultation with Communications Lead.

Trusted Partner to core functions of the business in rolling out change initiatives and new projects to enhance engagement, information sharing and strategy implementation

Create appropriate platforms, led by the power of digital technology, to provide employees with in-depth understanding of the business, its goals, objectives and direction.

Help promote the inculcation of TGL’s core values as a way of life

Promote internal brand visibility and engagement.

Engage, align, and energise employees to become ambassadors for the company

Reputation Management

Deliver and implement TGL’s Reputation Management strategy, with guidance from Line Manager, including key initiatives, policies, plans and strategies.

Develop and execute crisis management plan to keep pulse on potential crises and key risks in the business.

Act as key representative from External Affairs on TGL’s Incident Management team (IMT).

Lead and implement an active stakeholder engagement plan for the investment and regulatory community in Ghana, especially the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to elevate TGL’s position as a listed company.

Take charge of company external sponsorships, partnerships, brand management and corporate events delivery.

Coordinate the production and distribution of relevant business literature for internal education/information

External Communications

Develop and implement media relations strategy plans to help TGL attain its key strategic and business objectives

Advise on managing the image and reputation of TGL

Lead efforts in telling the compelling journey of Tullow in Ghana, through key pillars including local content leadership, safety and operational excellence, community impact projects, localisation agenda and efficient economic contribution to our host country.

Help strengthen and manage key media, government and external relationships for the company

Assist in the management of external issues with key media relationships and contacts

Prepare content for, and organize media engagement platforms across the country, using key relationships, cutting-edge digital technology and strong stakeholder engagement.

Develop and implement strong PR strategy to keep TGL top of mind in the energy sector landscape.

Support the delivery of key documentaries, opinion editorials and feature articles that reflect the impact of TGL as a responsible corporate citizen.

Public Education

Develop and implement a public education strategy, approved by Communications Lead

Assist with various levels of stakeholder and government engagements as advised by Line Manager

Ensure that TGL has relevant key messages and literature in support of strategic business objectives

Support Line Manager in high-level communication engagements with senior and Group leadership.

Risk & Assurance

Apply the risk and assurance principles in day-to-day operations

Actively participate in all risk and assurance activities within your department

Knowledge/Qualifications

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Corporate Communications, Marketing, or related field.

Experience working in similar role for a multinational company is a plus.

Skills /Professional Experience

A minimum of 10 years’ experience in corporate communications.

Advanced skills in writing, reporting, copywriting, video editing, and presenting.

Extensive corporate experience in Internal Communications management.

Media experience will be an advantage.

Demonstrable high-level strategic thinking and sound editorial judgement.

High organization and coordination skills.

Proficient communication planning, management, and problem-solving skills.

Public Relations experience.

Digital communications experience.

Experience in producing branded corporate literature and other materials.

Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

Good analytical abilities & social network skills.

Decisiveness and ability to prioritise effectively.

Good project management skills.

Advanced Microsoft Suite skill

Strong local and international media network
