Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of Cage Fabrication and Maintenance Attendants.
- Ensure all cages are inspected according to the monthly inspection schedule.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on cages as scheduled to prevent deployment delays.
- Conduct daily inspections and checklists of all marker buoys, mooring buoys, and bridle ropes at all sites.
- Ensure all pins and blockers are in place for every cage, with any breakages fixed on the same day.
- Repair broken cages (e.g., handrails, bent stanchions) on the day they are reported.
- Inspect and fix cages and center buoys after harvest.
- Install and uninstall all Nursery cages before and after counting, following procedure.
- Ensure all Grow Out and Nursery center buoys are installed as required.
- Ensure the safety of the team by enforcing 100% compliance with PPE and other Health and Safety guidelines.
- Complete activity reports.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Full Grade Twelve (12) Certificate with credits or better in Science, Mathematics, and English.
- Diploma in Fisheries Science, Fisheries & Aquaculture, Natural Resource Management, Metal Fabrication, or other relevant qualifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising a large team.
- Comfortable working on water (this role is predominantly based on Lake Kariba).
- Coxswain training is a plus.
- Experience in cage fabrication is a plus.
- Strong team leadership abilities are essential.
