Duties and responsibilities
Project management, including budgeting, expenditure management, reporting, supervision of project staff: lead the management of projects with an aggregated budget of more than EUR 15 million (RESSAC, OFAC-CE and CAFI Congo)
Leadership role in Science-Policy dialogue: provide leadership to the scientific and academic college of the Congo Basin Forest Partnership (CBFP), the Network for Forestry Research in central Africa (R2FAC) and the Congo Basin Science Initiative.
Leadership role in the promotion of impact of CIFOR-ICRAF research in multiple countries: Interact with governments and regional bodies in charge of forest policy and decision making to improve the management of forest ecosystems in Central Africa.
Produce scientific and policy publications to advance African and tropical forest ecosystems management.
Fund raising: lead the development of proposals.
Requirements
PhD in forestry.
At least 15 years of research-development experience in the domain of sustainable forest and natural resource management in Central Africa.
At least 5 years’ experience in project management, including financial management, partner relations and supervision of staff.
