The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:
- Providing service and plant equipment maintenance, as well as planning, Implementing, coordinating, and tracking engineering standards and maintenance system procedures and practices to ensure that services, plant, and equipment are provided and maintained at high levels of availability and reliability.
- Be accountable for Instrumentation execution, Process & Mining instrumentation, Electronics, Process DCS control, Safe Wind, Systems, Radio network, Instrumentation services, PI / SCADA (PLC’s maintenance) Weigh bridges Calibration Ventilation fans monitoring, Heating, Ventilation and Air con (HVAC).
- Providing input to the department’s plans and direction and ensuring an appropriate understanding of corporate and business unit strategies by all team members.
- Identifying areas that need focus & build programs (incl. measurement systems) to close these gaps.
- Analysing and identifying issues affecting the operational performance and establish initiatives for continuous improvement to ensure safe and reliable equipment by optimizing the life cycle of distribution assets through regular inspection, maintenance, and repair of these assets.
- Ensuring adherence to statutory and domestic regulations, through maintenance of a safety audit system and issuance of standing Instructions and codes of practices in line with appointment
- Effectively manage Quality Assurance procedures to plan and coordinate maintenance work and liaise with other sections and service departments for timely completion.
- Promoting safety consciousness in the section and maintain a safe working environment by ensuring that maintenance standards conform to statutory and domestic safety and environmental regulations.
To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
- Degree in Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering or related disciplines
- 8+ years of proven experience in electrical and instrumentation supervision, preferably in the Mining Industry.
- Advanced Certification in Programmable logic Controllers, and Familiarity with Siemens PCS 7.
- Show proven competencies with Profinet and Profibus communication infrastructure
- Excellent knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems, equipment, and relevant codes and standards.
- Knowledge of Instrumentation operations principles and their selection criteria for requirements in the plant.
- Have good oral and written Communication Skills
- Member of Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
- Registered with the Engineers’ Registration Board (EngRB)
