Responsibilities:
- The Rainforest Alliance’s Core Values are Impact, Change, Collaboration, Openness and Trust and as such they form the basis of the behaviours we demonstrate:
- Provide compliance guidance to and train project teams on donor requirements and regulations and organize kick-off calls for all new projects in the region;
- Monitor and actively complete mandated donor requirements and regulations. (i.e. approvals, due diligence requirements, etc.);
- Negotiate, draft, and review grants, subgrants, NDAs, MOUs, and consultant agreements and associated modifications;
- Complete risk assessments, monitor, and help ensure capacity building to Rainforest Alliance Partners;
- Monitor Rainforest Alliance offices within their portfolio to ensure they comply with organizational and national compliance requirements through Internal Compliance Reviews;
- Develop and monitor internal capacity building plans for Rainforest Alliance country offices in the region;
- Write national and regional policies as necessary;
- Maintain expertise on current donor, institutional, and national compliance requirements;
- Facilitate, communicate, and monitor compliance requirements within project teams;
- Advise Global Internal Compliance Director and Regional Directors on issues related to non-compliance with Rainforest Alliance Policies & Procedures by country office personnel, as well as anticipate issues that may affect the delivery of Global Internal Compliance services;
- Explain the process, guidelines, and requirements for donor, institutional, and national compliance requirements to staff and managers to strengthen general compliance across the country offices in the region;
- Coordinate with Regional Directors, Country Directors, and F&A managers on Internal Compliance Reviews and work with local teams on internal capacity building plans;
- Maintain up-to-date agreement records within SalesForce;
- Drafts, reviews, and approves agreements for portfolio;
- Maintains and monitors Rainforest Alliance’s compliance to donor requirements within portfolio;
- Maintains and monitors Rainforest Alliance’s compliance to organizational policies within portfolio;
- Serves as a key institutional resource for staff and management on donor and organizational compliance; and
- Trains staff and partners on grants management within portfolio or organizationally as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or equivalent. Master’s Degree, or equivalent experience preferred;
- 8 years’ contracts and grants administration experience specifically with grants to non-profits from public agencies (Government or multilateral, i.e., UN, GEF, IKI, BMU, USAID, among others);
- 5 years’ agreements review and writing experience;
- 5 years’ general experience in administration of database management;
- 4 years’ experience in Financial system support (such as Concur);
- Practical experience of using Finance &Administration systems;
- Excellent computer, communication, planning and organizational skills;
- Ability to multitask and cope with changing priorities;
- Ability to work independently and in a team;
- Willingness and ability to work to meet tight deadlines;
- Verbal and written fluency in English is a must.
