The primary role of the Engineering Manager is to provide systemic and technical leadership for Engineering and Utilities within Voltic and ensures compliance to group SD requirements and standards, also ensuring Legal compliance.
Responsibilities
- Ensure business compliance to CCBA SD (Sustainable Development) requirements and standards.
- Ensure Engineering Legal Compliance at Plant and in other Operations (CDE, Fleet).
- Lead the development of Business Continuity Plans in respect of Water and Electricity.
- Develop and maintains Utilities, Plant, Equipment and Maintenance standards.
- Ensure that utility and plant equipment and processes are performing to the required standards.
- Provide input into the design of large capital projects and ensures that asset management operational readiness requirements for utilities and plant are met.
- Lead the definition and integration of new efficient technology, including alternative energy sources.
- Ensure that the engineering teams apply proper safety and housekeeping procedures, and adhere to all legal requirements when carrying out their tasks.
- Develop and implement KPI’s and reporting systems and analyses the KPI’s to provide business insight.
- Provide SD operational support at a plant level.
- Provide SD input into the design of large capital projects and ensures that SD operational readiness requirements are met.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or Higher Diploma (minimum) in Mechanical or Electrical engineering
- Advanced certification into Hazardous Installations, Systems under pressure, Pressure Vessels
- At least 10 years working experience of which at least 4 years covered utilities and plant operations and management
- Is an experienced practitioner of the manufacturing way/lean manufacturing/TPM/WCM
- Implementation of Asset Management and OEM principles and standards
- Very strong communication skills from executive level through to shop floor
- Strong systemic and strategic thinking balanced with a practical realism
- Strong analytic skills and problem solving capability tempered with a bias for action
- Ability to train others in CCBA Utilities Systems & Management
- Deep understanding of Utilities Technology and drivers of efficiency and integrity
- Deep understanding of Plant and Equipment maintenance principles and practices.
