The French Institute of Rwanda (Centre Culturel Francophone du Rwanda) is looking for an assistant media library to work in close collaboration with the Media Library Manager.
Main objective of the position:
The media library assistant participates in the management and promotion of the media library’s collections. He/she contributes to the promotion of public reading and welcoming the public to the media library. He/she also manages online portals, events and routine administrative tasks.

- Working time: 40 hours/week + overtime
- Remuneration: 371,986 FRW net per month
- Number of days of leave: 21 days/year + overtime recovered

- Type of contract: One-year fixed-term contract, renewable once and possibility of permanent contract thereafter
Skills sought:
- Category B driving license (desirable)
- Languages: Kinyarwanda (level C2/bilingual), French level B2 minimum (full oral and written abilities – obligatory), English level B2 minimum.

Activities and tasks relating to the position:
Management of the documentary collection:
- Responsible for checking and arranging collections and works
- Ensure delivery tally, catalog, rate, index and cover works after delivery
- Perform inventory weeding
Reception and orientation of the public:
- Inform, guide, advise and respond to requests from the public (documentary research, help on the use of video games, culture library, etc.)
- Manage reader registrations
- Manage tasks relating to centralized loan: loan and return of books
- Being the relay person for our partners (schools, youth centers, etc.)
- Participate in the surveillance of property and people
Animation :
- Participate in and run the media library (reading workshop, film screening, etc.) and ensure logistical implementation
- Ensure the preparation and implementation of video game workshops
- Coordinate summer activities in collaboration with other agents from the media library, the language center and the cultural service (French speaking, film festival, etc.)

Direct superiors: Media library manager, Secretary General, Director of the French Institute of Rwanda, Cooperation and cultural action advisor.
