Kenya Forest Service is a corporate body established under the Forest Conservation and Management Act no 34 of 2016 (henceforth referred to as the Act). The Act which was operationalized on 31st March 2017, gave the Service’s mandate as “to provide for the development and sustainable management, including conservation and rational utilization of all forest resources for the socioeconomic development of the country and for connected purposes”.
Entry Requirements :
- Certificate in Records Management, Information Management, Information Science, Library Science or any other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution;
- Proficiency in computer applications;
- Fulfils the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution;
An officer at this level will work under the supervision of a senior officer
Duties and responsibilities
- Receiving mails, opening, sorting and dispatching to the recipients
- Maintaining registers for incoming and outgoing mails
- Ensuring security of files and documents including Equipment in the section.
- Ensuring all pending correspondences are brought to the attention of supervisor and appropriate action taken;
- preparing appraisal and disposal schedule of files and documents in liaison with relevant agencies;
- Digitizing KFS documents for circulation and archiving.
