Kenya Forest Service is a corporate body established under the Forest Conservation and Management Act no 34 of 2016 (henceforth referred to as the Act). The Act which was operationalized on 31st March 2017, gave the Service’s mandate as “to provide for the development and sustainable management, including conservation and rational utilization of all forest resources for the socioeconomic development of the country and for connected purposes”.
Entry Requirements :
- Degree in Forestry from a recognized institution
- Membership in good standing of the relevant recognized professional body.
- Attended a Training of Trainers (ToT) course or Diploma in Education from a recognized institution
- Proficiency in Computer applications
- Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

An officer at this level will work under supervision of a senior officer.
Duties& responsibilities
- Supervising trainees in the field attachment and basic research projects.
- Planning and implementing all forest management activities as directed by the forester.
- Guiding and assessingtrainees projects and evaluate effectiveness of teaching.
- Participating in development of college curricula.
- Planning and implementing syllabus in relevant subjects.
- Compiling trainees’ academic reports and records.
- Preparing teaching and aids.
- Preparing scheme of work and lesson plan for subjects assigned to teach.
- Setting and marking college examinations and grade trainees.
- Taking trainees to field trips.
- Promote public values and principles
- Mentoring and coaching
