Kenya Forest Service is a corporate body established under the Forest Conservation and Management Act no 34 of 2016 (henceforth referred to as the Act). The Act which was operationalized on 31st March 2017, gave the Service’s mandate as “to provide for the development and sustainable management, including conservation and rational utilization of all forest resources for the socioeconomic development of the country and for connected purposes”.
Entry Requirements :
- Diploma Civil Engineering from a recognized institution
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Meet the requirements of Chapter six of the constitution

An officer at this level shall report to a senior officer.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To supervise specific projects for construction and maintenance of roads and bridges
- Supervise maintenance/ construction of roads and civil works within the jurisdiction of the Road Unit(s).
- Supervise all staff stationed at construction site(s) and road units such as overseers, Inspectors, Plant operators, drivers and artisans.
- Supervise selection of suitable construction materials for Roads and Civil works.
- Supervise construction fleet of equipment, plant and vehicles deployed at various construction sites and road Units.
- Make requisitions for materials, fuels, oils and tools in respective Units.
- Supervise construction fleet of equipment, plant and vehicles deployed at construction sites
- Prepare and maintain muster rolls and pay sheets
- Compile work progress reports for road works.
- Prepare log sheets, work tickets and daily activities sheets
- Ensure safety of equipment and personnel at construction sites.
- Prepare work progress reports.
- Arrange for material testing
- Ensure correct standards are maintained in construction site
- Ensure all existing construction by-laws are followed/ adhered to
- Control of construction material usage
- Promote public values and principles
- Mentoring and coaching
