Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) is a leading research organization in Africa with a strong track record in developing, testing and validating innovations for health. The Ifakara Health Institute is looking for a qualified Research Officer to join the SubTB study. The Officer will work with SubTB project team to provide medical care to the patients and provide leadership for other team members at the Temeke TB clinic.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Screening of the study participants.
• Enrolment of the participants.
• Clinical management of complicated patients.
• Coordination of clinical activities and development of progress reports.
• Initial development of SOPs, review and training SOPs.
• Preparation of study documents e.g., CRFs, LRFs, study Logs, etc.
• Participate in manuscript and grant writing.
• Support data management and responding to queries.
• Management of site investigator files (ISF).
• Communication with Regulatory authority and Ethics.
• Participating in relevant network meetings and training activities including conferences, seminars, workshops, forums, etc.; in consultation with the supervisor.
• Assisting in the training and supervision of new staff, interns and visiting students.
• Performing any other activities as instructed by the supervisor.
Qualification and Experience
• Doctor of Medicine (MD).
• Experience in clinical research.
Skills and Competencies
• Patient management skills.
• Computer skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
