Now Maamba Collieries Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Nava Bharat Ventures Limited, is set to double its power generation capacity from 300 megawatts (MW) to 600 MW. This expansion, which falls under Phase II of MCL’s development plan, will involve the addition of 2 x 150MW (300MW) power units.

MCL is hereby advertising the following  positions for expansion project 2 x 150 MW Thermal Power Plants located at Maamba, Zambia.

Minimum Qualifications;

• Grade 12 certificate
• Diploma/ Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Zambian with NRC
• Must be a paid-up Member of Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
• 3 to 5 years work experience.
• Age of 24 to 35 years
• Proficient in Ms. Word and Excel / Good report writing abilities and communication skills.

OTHER JOD DETAILS (ELECTRICAL ENGINEER – MAAMBA) ROLE OF THE POSITION:

Technical duties to be assigned by the Construction Manager through the immediate supervisor.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintenance of the construction power supply and collection of monthly billing readings.
• Collect the daily work progress and report to immediate supervisor.
• Preparation of Weekly progress report.
• Preparation of monthly progress report
• Review the Electrical circuit drawings for low voltage and medium voltage switchgears.
• Review the Risk assessment plans with EPC contractor for Erection, testing & Commissioning of Electrical equipment’s in power plant.
• Supervise the construction works of Low voltage switchgear, Medium Voltage switchgear and AC Motors & DC Motors as per approved drawings.
• Inspect the Electrical Equipment’s installations as per Field quality assurance plan.
• Adhere to all laid down safety, Health and Environmental standards, practices and procedures.
• Witness the Pre-commissioning tests conducted on electrical equipment’s

SECONDARY/ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

Communication with Mine Electrical Engineer.

Forecasting problems and taking prior remedial actions.
