Job description

Develop & deliver Safety, Health & Compliance training and continual assessments for all KMP & Contractor employees across the site.

Key Responsibilities

The holder of this position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations about health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function. Specifically:

  • Training & Assessment in Safety / Compliance Training Programmes and Courses
  • Verification of Competence of all employees/contractors mobilising to the site as per KMP Compliance Permit for site access
  • Training record keeping/control through the approved Training Management System (INX – InTuition).
  • Updating of all training activities and documents in the approved Training Management System (INX-InTuition)
  • Develop Training plans and manage objectives and performance.
  • Auditing Departments Training/compliance Status, i.e. Training matrixes, gaps, etc.
  • Assist end-users in identifying safety-related gaps and help close out the gaps.
  • Conduct training needs analysis and deliver training to bridge gaps in employee’s skills and knowledge.
  • Plan, develop and implement courses to meet the training needs of the business in safety and health.
  • Ensure that company procedures and safety regulations are reinforced to minimise accidents and optimize production.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients to establish training needs and report on training progress.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training through on-site spot-checks to verify adherence to Safety Compliance and update training materials as appropriate.
  • Any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the supervisor in line with the effective operations of the Training Department.

Qualifications / Skills

  • Minimum of a Grade 12 certificate
  • Trainer assessor – Zambian accreditation (advantageous)
  • Teaching methodology
  • Diploma in Safety & Health
  • MS Office Suite – Excel, PPT, Word
  • Facilitation / Presentation / Coaching skills

Experience

  • 5 years of Safety Training experience preferably in the Mining environment
  • 5 years plus in Training and Assessing in Resources Industry
