Job description

Must have 7+ years of excellent operational experience building and/or scaling organizations.

Must have scaled, led, or grown (or both) top start ups, scale ups, or high impact organizations in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Ideal candidates have led, grown, or scaled large operational teams for successful, mid-large non-profits, or for-profit organizations in Africa.

Must have worked through data driven organizations and have a data mindset/approach to projects.

Must be based in Malawi, or open to up to 50% of travel to Malawi (if based out of Malawi).

What does the job involve

Building out our pipeline of potential partners and supporting the diligence process. This includes;

Field visits to see operations and their outcomes.

Interviews with staff, leading external experts and peers.

Rigorous review of internal systems, documents, and impact data.

Identify barriers to impact at scale with your partner organization(s).

Scope and deliver projects – either yourself or through a third party service provider – to solve challenges and unlock growth opportunities.

Engage in regular strategic conversations with organizations to ensure they are on track, and that the company is able to support them in what they do best.

Ensure the company always has access to the most important data and information about your partner organization(s).

Partner with other officers at the company on internal and external projects that could impact the broader cohort;

For example, bringing together leaders from multiple organizations to workshop specific opportunities and challenges.

Facilitate trials to accelerate promising new technologies or programmatic improvements across the cohort.

Fulfill any additional work to ensure we are fulfilling all key activities necessary to run our fund;

For example, supporting a specific donor request or researching new Government initiatives.

Salary Range: 75k-110k USD per annum
