This role is in addition to current job description. Additional renumeration will be given for this post.

Job Description

• Plan and prepare practical materials for lessons
• Under the direction of Heads of Department oversee the resources and photocopying
• Liaise with other members of the DT and other designated departments
• Preparation of Classrooms
• Cleaning and maintaining the DT classrooms and surrounding area
• Prepare materials for class work communicating with the Heads of Departments and relevant
teachers
• Maintain inventory for selected departments
• Support teachers and students in Design and Technology projects, helping with practical tasks,
demonstrations, and project implementation.
• Assist teachers with lesson arrangements
• Improvement of the working environment and systems in consultation with the Heads of
Department
• Carry out duties as may be required from time to time commensurate with the overall
responsibility of the post
• Keep an updated audit of equipment and books including ICT equipment
• Maintain and update the Department notice boards
• Ensure all machinery is in correct and safe working order
• Promote a safe working environment.
• Assist students using some workshop machinery during lessons. Eg Pilar drill
• Use the laser cutter and 3D printer to produce students work.
• Check students CAD drawings are suitable for laser cutting or 3D printing.
• Maintain workshop hand tools to ensure they are in good working condition. Eg sharpen chisels
• Stay updated on new technologies, tools, and techniques in the field of Design and Technology,
and participate in training sessions as required.

• Stock Management: Manage stock levels of materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring that
supplies are replenished as needed and maintaining an inventory of resources.
• Collaborate with teachers, students, and other staff members to ensure the effective delivery of
Design and Technology lessons and projects.
• Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Head of Design and Technology to support the
smooth running of the department.

Pastoral Responsibility

• You may be asked to support in school events and afternoon activities
• You may be required to assist in Life Skills days
• Work with teams on House events and afternoon activities
