Responsibilities
- The strategic direction of DRC engagement in Ethiopia in alignment with ERCS and DRC strategic priorities
- Leading and implementing the scale up of the DRC country engagement in Ethiopia, including operationalising business development and fundraising strategies
- Leading DRCs commitment to strengthened Movement collaboration in Ethiopia
- The operationalising and implementing organisational priorities in Ethiopia
- The overall management and development of DRC supported portfolio and budget in Ethiopia
- Representing DRC and develop Partnerships with RCRC Movement Partners other in-country partners and stakeholders
- Lead and manage the DRC team of delegates in Ethiopia, including security
Essential experience and qualifications:
- Academic background, e.g. master’s degree in international development studies or any other relevant field
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in working with humanitarian organisations in developing, emergency and post-emergency contexts
- Documented experience with team leading and staff management and security management
- Successful experiences with resource mobilisation with private foundations and institutional donors, including EU/ECHO, DANIDA and others
- Expertise within programme cycle and financial management of programmes supported by major donors
- Experience from the RCRC Movement
- Working experience from Africa
- Exceptional resilience, stress management and ability to work in demanding situations under pressure
- Excellent communication, coordination, networking and facilitation skills
- Full working proficiency in English speaking and writing
