Your main missions are thus:
For Ghana and Liberia, to monitor projects in execution in the “energy and green infrastructure” sector in conjunction with the geographical, technical and legal departments of the headquarters as well as with local partners and project owners;
to participate in the implementation of technical cooperation programs or actions;
to monitor procurement and implement disbursements;
to organize and support project supervision and monitoring missions;
to contribute directly to operational and institutional communication on the sectors covered, on behalf of AFD and within the France team in Ghana;
to participate in the evaluation of AFD projects in the sectors concerned;
to be the referent on 2 to 3 cross-cutting themes.
You contribute to the identification and instruction of new operations to be financed in the “energy and green infrastructure” sector:
Participate in prospecting/origination, identification, development of feasibility studies and implementation of new projects;
Ensure sectoral monitoring, follow national policies and contribute to the definition of the sectoral intervention strategy;
Take part in sectoral dialogues and working groups in conjunction with local authorities, other donors, and NGOs and companies in the sector;
Represent AFD vis-à-vis national authorities, service providers and other technical and financial partners.
Who are we looking for?
1. Skills sought
With a higher education or a graduate of a leading university, you have acquired a specialization in the energy sector, and you wish to promote energy efficiency, the production of green energy and the construction of green infrastructure. Skills in project management and financial analysis would be appreciated.
You have had the opportunity to put these skills into practice in the context of initial international experiences, ideally in a developing country.
2. Human / interpersonal skills
With very good interpersonal skills, you enjoy working in a team and have excellent writing, analysis and synthesis skills. You are also rigorous, organized and proactive. You appreciate versatility and have a good ability to adapt to a different cultural context.
3. Level of education / diploma
You hold a Bac + 5 / Master 2 level diploma obtained from an engineering school or university, in particular, in the field of energy and project financing.
4. Languages
Fluency in spoken and written English is essential. Fluency in French or the desire to develop fluency is an added value.
5. Type of contract
Local Operational Manager (LOM) position. The employment contract is a Ghanaian law contract entitling you to an attractive salary and in line with the Ghanaian labor market.

You have a diploma from a reputable institution and you have acquired a specialization in the energy sector, and you want to promote energy efficiency, green energy production and green infrastructure construction. Project management and financial analysis knowledge and/or proven experience would be appreciated. You already have international experiences, ideally in a developing country.

You have very good relationships management skills, you appreciate teamwork and have excellent writing, analysis and synthesis competencies. You are rigorous, organized and proactive. You appreciate versatility and have a good ability to adapt to a different cultural context.
4. Languages
Fluency in oral and written English is essential. The mastery of French or the desire to develop one’s mastery is a plus.
