” The members of the Council were amazed to see how bold Peter and John were and to learn that they were ordinary men of no education. They realized then that they had been companions of Jesus.”
Acts 4:13
Even though Peter and John were unlearned men of no education, their fellowship with Jesus transformed them. They were bold and sounded different from every other unlearned man. They were unlearned, yes, but they chose to fellowship with a teacher. Jesus spent most of his time teaching and healing . Peter and John may not have graduated from college, but sure enough, they were getting schooled by Jesus daily and were no longer ignorant men at this stage of their lives. If Peter and John had fellowshiped with a fool, their foolishness would have been made manifest, and they would have suffered for it. The people you fellowship with can be the reason for your failure. If you walk with success, success will rub off on you, and you will end up a success. The same is true for failure.
A club of divorced people is very dangerous, I do not mean to attack anyone who is divorced, but for you to join a club of those who are divorced may only make you worse in life. If you have failed in marriage, for example, and for whatever reason , fellowship with those who are winning and be the one to listen more or else those winning will distance themselves from being corrupted by your influence. If you score zeros in class, seek the companionship of one who scores straight A’s.
Do not suppose that the people you hang around don’t matter. It matters even where you work. If you are working in a nightclub , you are likely to end up living the life of clubbing. Nobody was born smoking. People learn to smoke mostly from those they hang around. Proverbs 13:20 says, ” He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” Don’t hang around fools they will end you up in trouble
