CDL was founded in early 2003 by its current Managing Director Lucy Mmari.Within her 14 year tenure in a well established logistics company, She honed her skill in human resources management and thereafter started CDL.
Job Responsibilities:
- Study nutrient uptake in pineapple, mango, and avocado plants.
- Enhance plant productivity through efficient nutrient use.
- Develop tools for detecting nutrient deficiencies and efficient irrigation scheduling.
- Monitor soil fertility, plant nutrition, water requirements, and plant growth.
- Identify knowledge gaps and conduct field/lab experiments on plant nutrition and soil fertility.
- Improve agronomic practices for optimum crop production.
- Coordinate the analytical chemistry lab.
- Supervise and train field workers.
- Ensure worker health, safety, and environmental protection.
- Manage and improve organic farming and composting processes.
Requirements:
Essential:
- 3 years of field research experience.
- B.Sc. in Agronomy, Soil Science, or related fields.
- Experience in organic farming, soil fertility, plant nutrition, and irrigation scheduling.
- Strong data analysis and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Valid driving license.
Desirable:
- M.Sc. in Soil Science or related fields.
- Experience with Sustainable Farming standards and Global GAP certification.
- Experience in chemical analysis
