Machakos County, nicknamed ‘Macha,’ was the first capital city of Kenya and is now an administrative county in Kenya. Machakos is made up of eight (8) constituencies including Machakos Town, Mavoko, Masinga, Yatta, Kangundo, Kathiani, Matungulu, and Mwala. Machakos Town is the administrative capital of the County.

Duties and Responsibilities.

• Dispensing drugs/medicines to patients under supervision of a senior officer
• Receiving interpreting and processing prescriptions
• Recording prescriptions in a pharmacy unit
• Pre-packing, repacking and writing instructions on labels
• Counselling patients on usage of drugs in a pharmacy unit
• Maintaining drug register/books
• Stock – taking of drugs and medicine devices on monthly basis

Requirement for appointment

• Diploma in either Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Technology or equivalent qualification approved by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board from a recognized institution
• Certificate of Enrollment as a Pharmaceutical Technologist awarded by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board
• Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
