The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive production operations, including logistics, warehousing, quality, and safety. This role involves strategic planning, resource management, and coordination of all production activities to ensure the efficient and timely manufacturing of high-quality products. The Operations Manager will collaborate closely with procurement for material purchases and provide strong leadership and development for the production team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement production schedules with the shift coordinator to meet sales forecasts and customer demand.
- Oversee production processes, adjusting schedules as needed to ensure timely delivery.
- Optimize production efficiency by analyzing workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Manage logistics operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products.
- Oversee warehousing operations to maintain optimal inventory levels and efficient space utilization.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely and cost-effective purchase of materials.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
- Work closely with the SHQ Coordinator to maintain high standards of safety and quality.
- Lead initiatives for process improvements and innovation to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Supervise and lead production, logistics, and warehousing staff.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to team members, promoting their professional development.
- Develop and manage the production budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing cost control measures.
- Monitor production costs and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production management role.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and practices is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and production management software.
