The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

• Preparation and review of Electrical Scopes of work for projects to be undertaken in the Department.
• Review of Electrical Designs and schematic electrical drawings and approval of the same prior to manufacture and or construction.
• Direct and co-ordinate electrical activities within the Department on all projects to ensure timeous delivery.
• Monitor and control expenditure and resources utilization in order to maintain costs within budget.
• Enforce Government and Domestic Regulation in order to safeguard the safety of personnel and company property.
• Enforce International, Zambian and MCM Electrical standards to safeguard equipment safety and ensure Engineering Best practice.
• Oversee the installation, testing and commissioning of all Electrical equipment and Switchgear.
• Guide immediate subordinates and Contractors to ensure Project schedules are met.
• Ensure compliance to the Company Staff development and disciplinary systems so as to develop subordinate staff to acceptable standards.
• Drive the health, safety and environment standards/policy awareness and practice in the Department to ensure compliance.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10 years post qualification experience at various levels to reach fully acceptable performance.
• Have good oral and written Communication Skills.
• Should have supervisory qualities.
• Member of Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ).
• Registered with the Engineers’ Registration Board (EngRB).

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and corporate objectives.
