The consultant will lead the review, finalization, and production of, the Zambia Climate Landscape Analysis for Children (CLAC) document, and develop visuals, for presentation.

The consultant will be responsible for reviewing the draft CLAC; collecting, compiling, and reviewing key resources (web-based); gathering in-country information; and undertaking a key-stakeholder analysis. In addition, the consultant will work closely with CO management and technical staff in relevant sections within the CO to identify and develop programming options and recommendations for the successful integration of climate, environment, and energy (CEE) issues in the country programme cycle.

Minimum requirements:

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Educations: Advanced university degree (Masters) in climate change, environmental science, meteorology, natural resource management, geography, social and economic development, or related areas.

Experience:

  • At least 8 years’ experience/expertise in international development
  • At least five years’ experience with research and analysis. Work on climate change and environment-related topics and their impact on communities and children is an advantage. Examples must be provided.
  • Demonstrated experience in child rights programming or any of UNICEF’s main areas of work (health, WASH, nutrition, child protection, social policy, education, gender), following a human rights-based approach and gender equality.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Zambian legislation and policies on environment and climate change.
  • Excellent skills in working with a team.

Languages

  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written skills are required.
  • Knowledge in the spoken local languages is considered an asset.
