CrossBoundary (CB) is currently looking to engage with qualified Investment Advisors (IA) to source and execute significant investments in partnership with Development Finance Institutions (DFI’s) across different underserved regions such as Central America, Southeast Asia, and others. You will be tasked with the origination, due diligence and presentation of potential transactions, working closely with DFI’s, SME’s and other stakeholders to ultimately unlock capital.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Market Engagement and Transaction Origination:
- Build and maintain a strong network of contacts in public and private sectors to facilitate economic activity.
- Serve as the principal point of contact in prospecting the market and building a pipeline of financeable deals.
- Identify and pre-screen transaction opportunities for all product lines.
- Transaction Execution and Due Diligence:
- Assist with transaction execution and due diligence for transactions within the designated region.
- Monitor and report on policy or legislation changes affecting transactions.
- Performance Monitoring:
- Support post-execution performance monitoring for transactions that have reached financial close.
- Assist with the verification of conditions subsequent needed to authorize subsequent disbursements.
- Representation & Engagement:
- Serve as a senior point of contact for stakeholders.
- Assist in program development and management.
- Represent the firm in conferences and interdepartmental activities.
- Feasibility Assessment:
- Collaborate to assess project feasibility.
- Prepare materials for review by approving authorities.
- Investment Analysis and Negotiation:
- Conduct comprehensive analyses of new loan and insurance proposals.
- Evaluate financial, technical, economic, legal, marketing, and political feasibility.
- Support negotiations on loan terms, collateral security, and policy requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in investment banking, financial advisory, or related fields.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Expertise in project structuring, corporate and project finance, and financial modeling.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working independently with minimal supervision.
- Existing network of professional contacts in frontier markets preferred.
- US citizenship required.
- Additional Advantages:
- Experience in emerging markets and familiarity with development finance.
- Willing to relocate to relevant emerging markets as required.
- Experience in international markets, with preference to an existing network of professional contacts in respective regions, such as Central and South America, Southeast Asia, etc.
- Knowledge of the investment landscape in underserved markets.
