We specialize in providing professional integrated security products, services and solutions. We are looking for a detail-oriented problem-solver to join our team as a Training Officer.
As a training officer, your job will be to equip guards with the knowledge, practical skills and motivation to carry out their work activities effectively
Responsibilities
- Is in charge of guards’ recruitment and training.
- Identify training and development needs through job assessment, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with heads of departments.
- Ensure that the company’s statutory training requirements are in line with the PSRA requirements.
- Conduct weekly recruitment exercise to beef up the number of guards in line with the company and customer requirements.
- Ensure that all recruits have all the required mandatory documents before deployment.
- Ensure that candidates recruited undergo basic guard training before deployment.
- Give written examination/aptitude tests to recruits in order to test their reading and writing skills.
- Compile a training report on all recruits before a pass-out.
- Conduct refresher courses on guards, supervisors and in-charges to ensure that they maintain a peak performance levels.
- Conduct a pass-out parade for the trained guards.
- Ensure high standards of discipline among guards and the recruits.
- Designing and expanding training and development programs based on both the company’s and individual training needs.
- Considering the costs of planned programs and keeping within budgets while assessing the return on investment of any training or development.
- Working in a team to produce competent, relevant and professional employees.
- Developing effective induction programs, refresher and on the job trainings.
- Devising individual learning plans.
- Assisting in producing training materials for in-house courses.
- Liaising with other training instructors to ensure all training is done in line with the company’s recruitment and training policy.
- Managing the delivery of training and development programs and devising a training strategy for the organization.
- Monitoring and reviewing the progress of trainees through questionnaires and discussions with relevant departmental heads.
- Evaluating training and development programs.
- In liaison with the training instructors, solve specific training problems, either on a one- to-one basis or in groups.
- Keeping up-to-date with developing and emerging trends in training by reading relevant journals, going to meetings and attending relevant seminars.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ continuous working experience in private security.
- Diploma in Security Studies or a related field and possession of an NYS discharge certificate will be an added advantage.
- Possession of a valid riding license – Class A2 or G is desirable.
