Providing technical support and tactical execution in the implementation and maintenance of company environment, health and safety management system in relation to contractor safety management. This includes monitoring and guiding contractors on all matters pertaining to Environment, Health and Safety (EHS).
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Inspects and evaluates contractor worksites, equipment, and practices, to ensure compliance with company environmental, health, and safety standards and government regulations.
- Reviews contractor safety files to ensure completeness and compliance to company contractor pre-entry requirements
- Conducts contractor Environment, Safety and Loss Prevention (ESLP) inductions to new contractors and refresher inductions as per company requirements
- Conducts in-house Environment, Health and Safety trainings for contractors to enhance understanding and implementation of company EHS requirements in all contractor activities
- Collect data, prepares reports and trend analysis in relation to contractor EHS performance and make necessary recommendations to ensure continuous improvement of the EHS contractor management system.
- Collaborates with projects managers to institute controls and remedial measures for hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions or equipment.
- Oversees plant contractor safety meetings to ensure engagement of contractors in EHS related activities.
- Provides guidance to contractors and project managers on investigations into accidents, incidents, and property damage for identification of root cause and corrective action to prevent recurrence.
- Conducts internal audit for contractors as per company internal audit programme and co-ordinate corrective actions to ensure timely closure of findings
- Provides input into ESLP meetings by availing contractor EHS performance and report EHS issues requiring management attention during these meetings
Environmental Management, Occupational Health & Safety, and Food Safety & Quality
- Cooperate and follow instructions given by the employer (Immediate manager or CCS Leadership Team), Commissioner of Labor, Inspector or any other person lawfully authorized to give such instructions in keeping the working conditions safe and without risk to health and injury in the field of that activity.
- Use, any means, appliance, equipment or other safety devise for securing safety and health as provided by the employer (Immediate manager or CCS Leadership Team) for use and protection of the employee or property in any process as per the instructions given by the employer or any person lawfully authorized to do so.
- Report to the employer (Immediate manager or CCS Leadership Team) any situation as soon as it becomes unsafe or unhealthy, or where an accident occurs report such accident to the employer or supervisor.
- Ensure adherence to Environmental management, occupational health and safety, Food safety and quality procedures, work instructions, and work aids and not compromise the environment, occupational health and safety, food safety and quality.
- Report all environmental, occupational health and safety, food safety and quality related incidents to their immediate supervisor without delay.
Organization Impact/Influence:
Internal contact with all associates and in particular contractors, project leaders and engineering team on matters relating to environment, health and safety.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Training & Development of contractor EHS personnel
- Direct responsibility for co-ordination of contractor EHS work activities and performance measures including coordinating contractor meetings.
- Stopping any work that does not meet Coca-Cola’s Environmental, Safety or Food Safety standards
Related Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and environmental management
- Minimum of 2 years’ EHS experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
- Strong interpersonal skills and an assertive manner, able to influence at all levels
- Project management capability
- Basic level experience with Microsoft Office software (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
