Key Responsibilities:
- Campaign Management and Supervision:
- Oversee and supervise the Proudly Zambian Campaign (PZC), ensuring that all activities align with the campaign’s goals and objectives.
- Conduct relevant research, policy analysis, and advocacy to support practical policy implementation for the PZC campaign.
- Identify issues within the PZC that need to be addressed in the strategic plan and develop strategies for the campaign’s growth.
- Marketing and Promotion:
- Undertake marketing campaigns aimed at increasing the consumption of locally produced goods.
- Promote value addition in PZC members’ products and services through various initiatives.
- Establish and implement capacity-building programs for PZC members to improve product quality standards and production quantities.
- Strategic Initiatives:
- Create a strong SME base through a supplier development initiative, linking SMEs to large PZC members.
- Strengthen partnerships within industry sub-sectors and with PZC members to enhance collaboration and growth.
- Obtain and disseminate information on local consumption needs, domestic trade capacity building, and training opportunities to PZC members.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Successfully relate and collaborate with PZC members, government officials, development partners, and other stakeholders to further the campaign’s objectives.
- Undertake training sessions aimed at improving the knowledge and skills of PZC members.
Person Specification:
- A Master’s degree in Economics, Development Studies, Trade and Investment, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Excellent communication, report writing, and proposal writing skills, with fluency in spoken English.
- Strong research skills, with the ability to conduct both qualitative and quantitative research.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate confidently with a wide range of people.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, statistical packages, and internet search engines.
- Understanding of the Zambian Government’s policy-making process.
