The positions exist to support maintenance of equipment reliability and prevent breakdowns that could disrupt production by fabricating machine components, repairing damaged parts and managing workshop spares for the plant.
WHAT YOU WILL DO: RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fabrication and Workshop machinery: Use of workshop machinery and tools to fabricate first-class quality spare parts/equipment and repair/maintenance of faulty parts/equipment.
- Ensure management of maintenance: Carry out any planned or emergency work orders covering corrective and preventive maintenance as per the stipulated Safety Standards.
- Equipment Inspections: Carry out inspections of the plant equipment for condition monitoring and maintenance planning.
- Workshop Operations: Carry out workshop equipment inspections/checklists and report any machine issues that need correction.
- EHS Compliance: Ensure compliance to set safety standards and practices including conducting risk assessments/permits and implementing mitigation measures when tackling tasks.
- Ensure good housekeeping protocols: Keep workspaces clean and tidy.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: REQUIREMENTS
- MSCE and the Malawi National Trade Test Grade1 in Welding & fabrication, City & Guilds Certificate part 2 or relevant equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Fabrication Workshop or Machinery operation.
- Good communication, planning, prioritization & problem solving.
