The Intern will experience the work integrated in, and will provide finance, admin and general backstopping to the Transformative Climate Finance Program of the AU Green Recovery Action Plan (TCFP AU-GRAP) team under the overall supervision of the Program Manager assisting, but not limited to, the following functions

  • Assist the TCFP AU-GRAP Finance, Admin & Procurement Senior Assistant in travel logistic arrangements, including air ticket booking, Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) calculations for consultants, meeting participants, and other official travelers and external parties.
  • Assist and support the TCFP AU-GRAP Finance, Admin & Procurement Senior Assistant in project management, and budget preparations for workshops/ trainings/ roundtables, including calculating DSA for government participants.
  • Provide protocol support by assisting the TCFP AU-GRAP Finance, Admin & Procurement Senior Assistant in processing visa requests for staff, consultants and workshop participants.
  • Assist Program Manager in research-related activities and in coordinating with key partners and stakeholders, and develop and update databases, including organizing digital and physical files
  • Provide logistical support on activities such as organizing and reporting conferences, events, training courses, etc.
  • Assist in arranging AU GRAP team weekly meetings and taking notes.
  • Post and manage content on GGGI’s corporate website, and other engagement platforms.
  • Support organization-wide and external communications around GGGI’s events, conferences and workshops and engage with local media focal points.
  • Support with the drafting and editing of reports, presentations, official communications, press releases, speeches and articles.
  • The Intern will be expected to perform other tasks, as required.

At the end of the internship, the Program Manager will provide full feedback on the job performed, and upon successful completion of the assigned duties, the Intern may request a certificate of Internship.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be eligible for an internship, candidates must:

  • Has completed a degree program from a recognized university
  • Be enrolled in a master’s degree program in a graduate school at the time of application and during the internship that is relevant for the internship.
  • Possess an excellent command of English and communication skills.
  • Possess an excellent knowledge of research design, data collection and analysis skills.
  • Good administrative and organisational skills and ability to keep documentation tidy and accessible
  • Good numeracy skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Be able to complete tasks on a timely manner.
  • Be willing to work as a team but be flexible to work independently.
  • Good knowledge of international and intergovernmental organization context.
QUALIFICATION

Applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance and international relations

SELECTION PROCESS

 TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Duration: The internship program is for at least three months and up to six months. Once selected, interns must begin your internship either prior to or within 12 months of graduation.

Stipend: GGGI interns receive a monthly stipend of USD$500 per month. All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by either the interns or their sponsoring institutions.

Visa: GGGI will provide a supporting letter for visa. Interns will be responsible for obtaining and financing the necessary visas.

Travel: Intern will arrange and finance their travel to the internship location.

Medical Insurance: Interns are responsible for their own medical insurance. GGGI does not provide medical insurance for interns.

Confidentiality: Interns must keep confidential any and all unpublished information obtained during the course of the internship and may not publish any documents based on such information.

Academic Credit: Interns may get academic credit from their institution of higher education for the internship. Interns need to check with their university to confirm their academic credit policy for internships.

Working Hours: interns are expected to work during normal working hours. Leave should be pre-approved by the Intern Manager, and the latter should inform the Office of HR accordingly.

Learning Outcomes: before completion of the internship, Intern Managers are expected to review the learning outcomes with the intern.

Certificate: provided upon successful completion of the internship, upon request.
