We seek a passionate and experienced Data Science Instructor to join our dynamic team. The instructor will play a critical role in training the next generation of data scientists, empowering them with the skills needed to excel in the data-driven economy. This role involves delivering high-quality instruction, mentoring students, and continuously improving the curriculum to meet industry standards.
Responsibilities:
Deliver Instruction:
Lead and deliver engaging and interactive lessons in data science, including but not limited to, Python programming, data analysis, machine learning, and data visualization.
Use a combination of online tools, coding exercises, and project-based learning to teach students effectively.
Curriculum Development:
Collaborate with the academic team to develop and refine the curriculum, ensuring alignment with industry trends and best practices.
Design and update course materials, assignments, and assessments that are relevant, challenging, and accessible to students.
Mentorship:
Provide one-on-one mentoring to students, helping them overcome challenges and supporting their learning journey.
Offer career guidance and support, including advice on portfolio development, job search strategies, and interview preparation.
Assessment and Feedback:
Monitor student progress through assessments, projects, and participation.
Provide constructive feedback to students, helping them to continuously improve and achieve their learning objectives.
Community Engagement:
Participate in community events, workshops, and webinars to promote Blossom Academy’s programs and engage with the broader data science community.
Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in data science or a related field.
Proven experience in teaching or mentoring, with a strong ability to explain complex concepts in a simple and relatable manner.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in programming languages- specifically Python programming.
Strong knowledge of data science tools and libraries, including Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, etc.
Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
A passion for teaching and empowering others.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with curriculum development and instructional design.
Industry certifications in data science or related areas.
Experience with remote teaching tools and platforms.
