As a Finance Intern, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the finance team by assisting with various financial tasks and projects. You will gain hands-on experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting while working alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic environment.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all the payments for the month have payment checklists
  • Render support as and when needed on project activities
  • Proper filing of all the vouchers and supporting documents and follow up on those missing vouchers
  • All PVs/QBE bills are serially numbered
  • Advance reconciliation vouchers are also serially numbered and attached
  • Check that the contact details of the vendors are all in QuickBooks
  • Carryout random verification of payments made to the participants and file the verification records together with the payment vouchers
  • Follow up with vendors to ensure that all the invoices are sent to finance on time
  • Setting up a filing system for major procurements done so far.
  • Ensure the basic documentation (vendor registration form and PO terms and conditions) for setting up new vendors are sent to the new vendors and the completed forms are returned timeously.
  • Review the completeness of the log sheets for both project vehicles and rented vehicles
  • Ensure all invoices are stamped paid before being filed
  • Support in retrieving requested documents as and when needed by the Finance and Operations Manager
  • Taking correspondence to the Bank and other places as and when required
  • Follow up on any other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Completed a bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or any related courses.
  • Excellent written and oral English skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office packages, and internet research.
  • Willingness to travel domestically, as required.
  • Strong team spirit with a proven ability to foster team building in a multi-cultural setting with team members and partners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Diplomatic communication skills (written and verbal), including dealing with high-level government and international officials, senior academics, and dignitaries in the appropriate manner.
