The Digital Health Systems Officer is a strategic and technical role responsible for driving innovation in digital health care solutions. This individual plays a crucial role in developing and implementing innovative technologies to support our peer counsellors and improve healthcare outcomes for the children and adolescents we support. The role combines technical expertise, leadership, and a passion for leveraging emerging technologies and Artificial Intelligence to transform healthcare delivery for our frontline peer counsellors.
Duties and Responsibilities
Roles and Responsibilities
• Technology Leadership:
• Keen interest in emerging trends in digital health, including mobile applications, data analytics, and health informatics.
• Lead the development and implementation of innovative solutions that enhance client care, data collection, and analysis.
• Collaborate with colleagues to drive digital health initiatives.
• Be the first line of support for all digital health system related issues.
• Ensure compliance of all digital health systems to both local and global guidelines/frameworks e.g. Data Protection, GDPR, Health Level 7 etc
• Solution Development:
• Design and development of mobile data capture solutions tailored to healthcare workflows.
• Integration of Zvandiri peer counsellor guidance materials to support healthcare workers.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for digital health innovation.
• Data Intelligence:
• Produce reports and data analytics to facilitate meaningful insights from health data that can help shape healthcare policies and practices by providing evidence-based recommendations.
• Thought Leadership:
• Act as a thought leader in the field of digital health.
• Participate in conferences, workshops, and industry events.
• Advocate for the adoption of innovative technologies to improve healthcare outcomes at Zvandiri.
Qualifications and Experience
Professional Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Health Informatics, Computer Science, Public Health).
• At least 3 years proven experience in delivering digital health solutions and supporting MOHCC facilities and activities.
• Experience with Dimagi CommCare, a mobile data collection and case management platform.
• Proficiency in DHIS2 (District Health Information System 2)
• Experience of adopting and maximising the potential of AI in the field of Digital Health.
• Strong understanding of databases and data modelling.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform for data visualization and reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Network administration and endpoint management.
• Well versed with data analytics packages such as Python and R
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
• An innovative mindset and a willingness to explore novel solutions.
• A digital health data analyst certification, such as CHDA, would be advantageous.
