Palladium is currently seeking a Data Use Analyst to support the implementation of the Data for Implementation (Data.FI) award in Eswatini. Data.FI is a five-year global project funded by PEPFAR and USAID, whose goal is to accelerate and sustain access to high-quality data to expedite HIV epidemic control and maintenance. Data.FI is led by Palladium, in partnership with JSI Research & Training Institute; Johns Hpkins University, Department of Epidemiology; Right to Care; Cooper/Smith; IMC Worldwide; Jembi Health Systems; and Macro-Eyes.
The project is USAID’s primary mechanism for strengthening data, technology, and HIS to support HIV activities. Data.FI aims to improve global, regional, and national in-depth analysis of HIV epidemiologic and programmatic data. The analysis can then be directly applied to expedite the achievement of PEPFAR targets. Data.FI focus also includes direct support to host-country governments to enhance existing HIS, thereby informing management responses to well-defined gaps in HIV and AIDS programming and sustaining impact by supporting the transition of activities to local partners.
The Data Use Analyst is a full-time position based in Eswatini.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of all data policies and guiding documents at all levels.
- Collaborate closely with the M&E manager to identify trends and patterns in CMIS data, utilizing these insights to inform and improve care delivery and patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with the M&E manager to routinely monitor and evaluate key performance indicators within the region, ensuring continuous assessment of CMIS impact on health outcomes and facilitating data-driven decision-making.
- Support facilities to generate high-quality data that supports clinical decision-making and health system improvements.
- Produce routine and ad-hoc reports that provide actionable insights for regional and facility teams. Coordinate Health data activities within the regions to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Support facility champions in developing quality improvement projects that leverage data to enhance care delivery and health outcomes.
- Supports data quality audits and assessments at the facility level, such as SIMS and other DQAs commissioned by MoH,
- Disseminates all Policies and guidelines on Data Management to facilities.
- Support trainings and mentorship to CMIS users to adopt the culture of data use, and ensuring they are proficient in using CMIS.
- Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in handling of health data at all levels and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Assist to Analyse data, produce routine and ad-hoc reports, regional statistical reports and disseminate to regional stakeholders, towards achieving the CMIS data use agenda.
- Provide basic IT troubleshooting.
Candidate Qualifications
- Degree in Management Information Systems/Computer Science, Information Communication Technology, or related Associate Degree.
- At least 2 years’ relevant experience to similar projects; experience under CMIS implementation will be an added advantage.
- Computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Analytical skills and ability to interpret data into meaningful insights
- Experience in using analytic and visualization tools such as excel, DHIS2, etc.
- Planning & Organizational skills
- Communication skills, verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Proven experience as a trainer
- Administrations experience
- Written and oral proficiency in English and Siswati
- Must be legally authorized to work in Eswatini.
