Key responsibilities:

  • Craft comprehensive plans that outline how monitoring and evaluation will be conducted, including setting objectives, selecting indicators, and determining methodologies for data collection and analysis.
  • Collect, store, and manage data efficiently to ensure its accuracy, reliability, and accessibility for analysis.
  • Monitor all project activities, and progress towards achieving the project output to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to extract actionable insights that inform stakeholders about the program’s progress, outcomes, and impact.
  • Compile findings into reports that communicate results to stakeholders, including funders and the project team.
  • Offer evidence-based recommendations to the project team and stakeholders to refine strategies, enhance performance, and guide future decision-making.
  • Strengthen the M&E skills of team members through training sessions and support to ensure sustainability in M&E practices.
  • Participate in or lead evaluations of programs to assess their effectiveness and impact on target populations.
  • Design monitoring tools and systems that facilitate ongoing assessment of project activities against established indicators.
  • Organize learning events or workshops to document lessons learned from projects for continuous improvement in M&E practices.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in fields such as social sciences, statistics, international development, or related disciplines is required with essential knowledge of research methodologies and data analysis.

5 Years of practical experience working around Monitoring and Evaluation of projects within the Agrifood sector with the ability to demonstrate an understanding of real-world challenges and operational contexts.

Prior positions focused on monitoring and evaluation and the ability to design evaluations, collect data, analyze results, and report findings effectively is a must.

  • Experience working collaboratively with farmers in collecting data through focused groups.
