The Heavy-Duty Repair Mechanic performs maintenance and repair work on heavy equipment and machinery to ensure they are safe, functional, and reliable. This includes troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing regular inspections, and replacing parts when needed. The mechanic works closely with operators to ensure equipment is operating efficiently and safely.
Qualifications and preferences
Academic Qualification: Full Grade 12 certificate
Professional Qualification: Advanced certificate in H.E.R or Diploma in Mechanics.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in heavy-duty equipment repair. Underground experience is an added advantage. Valid silicosis certificate. Valid driver’s license.
Knowledge of computer and software is desirable.
Work Conditions: Ability to work in various environments such as underground and open cast.
