The main purpose shall include creating media material for various media platforms such as the web, social media, electronic and print media.

  • The digital media specialist’s responsibilities also include the planning and placements of campaigns for digital platforms.
  • Designing and developing company branding and related information packages
  • Stay up to date with the latest digital communication software and ensure the company is visually portrayed to a high standard on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and during company meetings and conferences.
  • Ultimately, a top-notch media specialist should be creative and be able to analyze the impact of campaigns on the company’s bottom line.

Specific Job Responsibility

  • Working closely with senior management to develop a strategy for integrated media campaigns.
  • Social Media Management: Manage and grow our social media presence across platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others.
  • Create and schedule posts, engage with the audience, and analyze performance metrics
  • Content Creation: Develop and curate high-quality multimedia content, including images, videos, and graphics, tailored for various digital platforms.
  • Supervising photography, filming, capturing pictures of activities and managing the library.
  • SEO Optimization: Optimize website content and structure for search engine visibility.
  • Conduct keyword research, track rankings, and implement SEO best practices.
  • Content Calendar: Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent and timely content delivery.
  • Assisting digital and social media, public relations, and creative teams to select the appropriate media for their projects across different media platforms.
  • Scheduling placement of content on digital media platforms.
  • Improving the brand’s awareness using digital media channels such as LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, X, Facebook and other.
  • Creating content for digital media platforms according to platform guidelines.
  • Writing content for search engine optimization.
  • Ensuring brand consistency across all digital media channels.
  • Keeping the online media library up-to-date.
  • Regularly analyze digital marketing performance using tools like Google Analytics, social media insights, and email marketing analytics.
  • Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions. Monitoring impact and return on investment of digital campaigns.
  • Remaining up-to-date with the latest digital media trends and design technology available.

Experience required to perform in this job

The Digital Media Specialist will require knowledge, skills and experience in the following areas:

  • Proven experience in digital media management, with a strong portfolio showcasing content creation skills.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and scheduling tools.
  • Knowledge of digital advertising platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads).
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive improvements.
  • SEO knowledge and experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to stay updated with digital media trends.
  • Knowledge of the latest media trends.
  • Basic budgeting skills to reconcile paid digital media placements with the available budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in digital media, or a related field
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in digital media campaigns and graphic design
  • Solid knowledge of design and editing programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, and Final Cut Pro.
  • Knowledge of web design and content management systems.
  • Advanced experience with web analytic tools such as Google Ads and Google Campaign Manager.
  • Familiarity with paid social media platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram, and YouTube and other
  • Grade 12 with minimum 5 passes
