Kapasa Makasa University is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates whoarehighly self-motivated and passionate about making a mark in the education sector tofill theposition of ICT lecturer for Cybersecurity on full-time employment in the ICTdepartment. The candidate should possess the following qualifications:

• Grade 12 Certificate with Five (5) credits or better including English and Mathematics
•  Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information and CommunicationTechnology (ICT) or any ICT-related relevant field and a Master’s degree ineitherInformation and Communication Technology Security, Computer Security, NetworkSecurity, Information Assurance, Data Privacy or any Computer Science fieldwithafocus on relevant security content. Must have at least two (2) years of teachingexperience in a tertiary institution, and have scholarly experience
• Being a holder of an earned PhD in Computer Science or an ICT-related fieldwill bean added advantage.
• Must have a minimum of two years of industry experience with hands-on experiencein roles related to security analysis, network security engineer, penetrationtester, incident responder, security consultant, vulnerability assessment and securityoperations.
• Prior experience lecturing in ICT, Computer Science or Cyber Security courses isanadvantage, as it demonstrates the ability to communicate technical topics to students.
• Must have verifiable scholarly work published in reputable journals.
• Must belong to a professional body related to the field of expertise and be anactivemembers
• Holding a teaching methodology qualification will be an added advantage

Responsibilities

1. To participate in offering computer and ICT courses to students pursuingundergraduate bachelor’s degrees in their respective fields.
2. Mentor students applying academic knowledge to solve real-life problems as theywork their way through their undergraduate programs.
3. To work with the institution as well as outside professionals in discussingopportunities for coordination research and development.
4. To review, revise and improve curricula used by the department

Required Skills

1. Intrusion detection and incident response
2. Network security control and threat knowledge
3. Should have programming skills in any combination of C#, C++, Java, Python, Webdevelopment, or any contemporary languages.
4. Practical knowledge of various tools and platforms used in cyber security, suchasfirewalls, IDS/IPS systems, SIEM, encryption technologies, and penetrationtestingtools (e.g., Kali Linux, Metasploit, Burp Suite, etc.).
5. Strong Communication Skills.
6. Ability to set up and manage hands-on labs and simulation environments for studentsto practice real-world cybersecurity tasks.
