The successful applicant shall, under the Registrar, be responsible for the
following:
a. ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of health services to officers,
Junior Members, Staff, Senior Members, contract staff and retirees of the
University, their families and registered wards;
b. supervision of health workers;
c. the procurement of medication, hospital equipment and other goods and
services needed for the efficient operation of the University Hospital and its
satellite allied health units;
d. management of the University Hospital, its satellite health units and its health
programmes;
e. monitoring, advising and educating members of the University on health
matters;
f. ensuring that the University Hospital provides regular health extension
services to adjoining communities;
g. serving on relevant committees of the University; and
h. performing any other functions that the Council or the Registrar may assign.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
The successful candidate must:
a. Be medically qualified with at least 15 years post-graduation
experience, with specialized qualification in the field of medicine,
paediatrics, family practice, community health, surgery or dentistry.
b. be in good standing with a Medical Regulatory Authority
c. have proven leadership and administrative abilities, demonstrated by
substantial and relevant work experience; and evidence of
coordinating work of units

• Communication and interpersonal skills
• High proactive attitude and a good team player
• Good analytical skills
• Very conversant with the Ghana Health Services Act; Ghana Health
Insurance Scheme, Financial Administration Act and Internal Audit
Agency Act.
