Support the design, implementation, monitoring and maintenance wired and wireless networks including participation in region and group networks activities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Implement networks builds for local area networks
· Performs structured cabling deployment/management
· Configures and deploys network switches
· Performs communication room design and build
· Manages site IP address schemes as guided by the region and group teams
· DHCP scope / pool management including
VLAN provisioning and maintenance
· Coordinates with region and group teams on any intersite dynamic routing requirements
· Enforcement of Core Network LAN standards
· Performs LAN switches code and software update
· Performs wireless network builds including Wireless local areas network deployment
· Optimizes wireless connectivity by performing wireless survey and analysis
· Enforcement of Core Wireless Standards
· Point to Point and point to multipoint backhaul design, build and deployment
· Tower build, install and, maintenance
· Supports telephony systems through DID block management, PSTN access management
· Supports video conferencing systems through moves adds and changes for Cisco Sparkboard
· Coordinates with the information security team to enforce network security standards
· Performs network monitoring and visualization in Solarwinds
· Monitors and restores network configuration backup in SolarWinds
· Proactive health monitoring on current network equipment
· Maintains network documentation
· Network Support/Operate through supporting wireless AP Break fix replace (proactive and reactive), Network LAN Break fix (proactive and reactive), break/Fix structured cabling (Vendor management), wireless backhaul break fix (proactive and reactive)
· Maintains and ensures quality end user device cabling
· Identification and escalation of web filtering and external firewall requirements
· Participate in telco WAN/Internet link break fix · Life cycle management (replace aged equipment)
· Manages site power / UPS support · Supports 3rd Party VPN Support
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology, information systems etc.
EXPERIENCE
· Minimum 5 years of related experience in networking
· Significant experience in configuring, managing and maintenance of wired and wires networking services
· Experience with Cisco telephony, core and distribution switches
· Strong, demonstrated infrastructure project management experience
· Relevant IT certifications i.e. Network+, CCNA, Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT), ITIL etc.
· Experience with configuring and managing Cisco switches, routers, core switches, and phone systems
· Experience with configuring and managing Cisco IOS/ISO-XE, Wireless LAN controllers, and Cisco Prime
· Member of ICTAZ or EIZ
