The role of the External Relations Officer is to increase opportunities for donor contributions to the work of WHO in the WHO/NGA and African Region through the oversight and management of grant application and reporting. The incumbent is also responsible for supporting technical staff in their resource mobilization efforts through skill development and training.
Summary of Assigned Duties:
- Provide support on strategic engagement with donors.
- Lead on proposal development in collaboration with technical units.
- Oversee grant reporting and ensure high quality reports to donors.
- Identify, maintain and develop partnerships with external stakeholders.
- Identify and make applications to governments, municipalities, international organizations and grant-giving foundations for specified funds and in-kind support.
Qualification:
- Advanced university degree in public health, business administration, management, communications, international relations or a related field.
Experience:
- At least seven (7) years’ experience working in grant management, donor funding, proposal development, and resource mobilization.
