Qualification and Experience:
- A PhD in Literature with a focus on Modern Literature.
 - An M.A. in Literature with focus on Modern Literature.
 - Extensive University teaching experience.
 - Extensive research in the discipline as attested by publications in reputable journals.
 
Duties:
- To teach Postgraduate and Undergraduate courses in African Languages and Literature including but not limited to:
 
– Commonwealth Literature;
– Gender Studies;
– Critical Theories;
– Film Studies; and
– Research Methodology.
- To supervise and mentor Postgraduate and Undergraduate students, guiding them in their theses/ research projects and facilitating their academic growth;
 
- To provide academic and administrative leadership within the Department;
 - To lead the development and production of course modules;
 - To mentor junior academic staff members;
 - To conduct research in the discipline and collaborate with Colleagues to contribute to interdisciplinary research projects and initiatives;
 - To undertake Administrative duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department;
 
- To undertake Consultancy Assignments; and
 - To engage in Community Outreach activities.
