Job description

Save the Children is inviting applications from suitably qualified personnel to fill the position of  a Driver, AAA Project. This position supports the office in driving Save the Children vehicles to transport Save the Children staff members, partners and consultants. The incumbent will also support in minor vehicle repairs and carry out some clerical assignments including filing documents in the department. 
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
 
In order to be successful, you will bring/have: 

  • A minimum of a MSCE plus clean Driving Licence.
  • Defensive Driving Certificate.
  • Certificate in Motor vehicle servicing and repairing will be an advantage.
  • Two years’ experience in  driving vehicles in a busy organization
  • Experience in working  in NGOs an added advantage
  • Ability to prioritize assignments
  • Computer skills (knowledge of spreadsheet, word  packages) 
  • Knowledge of record keeping  procedures applicable to vehicle management
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
