Scope of Work
The Qualitative Analyst’s responsibilities include:
- Participate in a three-day in-person training in Harare (local consultants) or online (international consultants).
- Participate in regular online check-ins throughout the period of performance.
- Review verbatim transcripts of interviews with local community garden stakeholders to gather information on 25 different aspects of community gardens, including the design of gardens, garden use, and the local context. Interviewees include agricultural extension officers, lead farmers, and village leaders.
- Summarize the available information to provide detailed assessments of ca. 20 community gardens using a case study tool, and present, discuss, and revise the resulting case studies in collaboration with other analysts.
Minimum qualifications and experience
This position is open to local consultants.
- Proven skills in the analysis of qualitative data, especially using comparative designs. Experience with advanced qualitative research methods such as Process Tracing or Qualitative Comparative Analysis is a plus.
- Proven skills in report writing, especially reports based on qualitative data.
- Experience in Zimbabwe highly desired.
- Experience with agriculture or rural development highly desired.
- Strong communication and writing skills in English are required.
