Job description

The Procurement & Logistics Officer is responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, overseeing the transportation of goods, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. The role ensures that the procurement and logistics processes align with the production requirements of the fruit factory, maintaining cost efficiency and high-quality standards.

Main duties

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to source quality raw materials and other required goods.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term supplier relationships.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring all transactions comply with company policies.
  • Monitor and assess supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery time, and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and government regulations.
  • Plan and coordinate transportation, warehousing, and distribution of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Work with suppliers and transport companies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Optimize logistics routes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure sufficient stock levels.
  • Handle import/export documentation and compliance with local and international trade regulations.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of perishable raw materials to maintain quality
  • And any other duties that may be assigned by your supervisor from time to time

Qualifications Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics & Procurement
  • Certification in Procurement & Logistics (CIPS, APICS, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement and logistics, preferably in the food processing or manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, and logistics coordination.
  • Hands-on experience with procurement software and ERP systems.
