Mission/ Core purpose of the Job

• The Senior Specialist: Enterprise Architecture is responsible for
designing, developing, and maintaining the architectural principles,
standards, and guidelines that underpin the technology strategy for
Converged Solutions (CS).
• The role ensures that the architecture remains aligned with business
goals and oversees the integration of new technologies and systems
into the CS technology landscape. This role collaborates closely with
cross-functional teams, ensuring that architecture designs are
scalable, secure, and flexible, while supporting business growth and
operational efficiency.

Strategic Planning
• Develop and maintain an Enterprise Architecture framework for Business Line product domains.
• Provide strategic insight and technical oversight related to the implementation of new tools, technologies, solutions, and
methodologies.
• Interpret the overarching strategy of the company and formulate aligned strategic deliverables.
• Align with other related units of MTN Technology functions to ensure compliant and integrated architecture and integrated principles
are applied.
• Assist the product teams in their Business cases for all platform technology investment and development.
Operational Delivery
• Lead the design, development, and documentation of enterprise architecture principles, standards, and guidelines for Converged
Solutions, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
• Establish a blueprint for enterprise-wide technology integration, including infrastructure, data management, and application
architecture. Oversee the seamless integration of new technologies and systems into the CS technology landscape, ensuring
compatibility with existing architecture and business needs.
• Define architecture and standards for complex solutions and maintain the technical architecture associated with platform
infrastructure and integration to back-end systems.
• Establish a blueprint for enterprise-wide technology integration, including infrastructure, data management, and application
architecture
• Evaluate outputs from different product domains to determine the applicability of integration into the wider infrastructure. Lead the
assessment and implementation of emerging technologies in line with enterprise architecture principles.
• Ensure strong integration with relevant technology and business stakeholders to enable high-quality architecture blueprints. Develop
and maintain relationships with strategic ecosystem vendors and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
• Identify, plan, and oversee the delivery of security assessments and consultancy, ensuring new products and services adhere to
relevant security strategies, designs, standards, controls, and tools. Produce due diligence reports to guide remedial actions.
• Master knowledge of complexities, services, and regulations across geographic locations to address customer demands. Design
robust network architectures to ensure high-quality customer experiences and service availability.
• Interlock with MTN Group Security and partner with internal and external stakeholders to enhance end-to-end architecture design
and standards.
• Oversee the integration of new technologies and systems into the CS technology landscape, ensuring seamless interoperability
across platforms.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that technology solutions are compatible with existing architecture and meet the needs of
the business.

Education

• 3-year tertiary qualification/ degree (Commercial/
Technical) in related field
• Relevant certification/ additional requirements
advantageous

Experience

Minimum of 5 years work experience
required in Enterprise Architecture
• Proven experience in technology
integration, with hands-on experience
integrating multi-platform systems and
overseeing their implementation.
• Experience with designing and
implementing architecture standards and
frameworks across large organizations,
particularly in telecommunications or ICT
industries.
• Worked across diverse cultures and
geographies.
• Experience working in a medium sized
organisation
• Experience in a telecommunication/
complex Tech environment (advantageous)
