Primary Tasks and Responsibilities
- Participate in the operation of a 24hrs/day and 7days/week spectrum monitoring system.
- Conduct radio frequency spectrum monitoring, including baseline measurements, to determine current noise floors, spectrum usage, level of utilisation and occupancy and prepare reports accordingly.
- Research and analyse signals being propagated by different technologies and report non-compliant signals.
- Undertake measurements and analyse radio spectrum usage to inform consideration of spectrum variations, withdrawal and re-farming/reallocation of radio spectrum.
- Develop and implement a system and templates for reporting and the periodic statistical presentation of information on spectrum usage to senior leadership.
- Maintain flexibility to accommodate any other duties assigned by the line supervisor from time to time.
Education and Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications, electronic, radio communications engineering or a related field.
- Membership with the Uganda Institute of Professional Engineers (UIPE).
Working Experience
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in frequency spectrum management, radio planning or radio frequency communications in the Telecommunications sector or ICT.
