RESPONSIBILITIES  

Regional Coordination Specific Responsibilities 

  • Provide administrative and operations support to the Program Managers in coordinating the overall project implementation across the counties to ensure that activities are carried out in a timely manner and within budget.
  • Support the Program Managers and Project Officers to monitor and review their budgets on a regular basis and work with the accountant with support of the Director of Finance and Operations (DFP) to institute corrective measures for any anomalies that may arise.
  • Support in the hiring of highly qualified Officers in collaboration with the Human Resource Business Partner to establish and manage projects as needed.
  • Maintain close communication with MEL Coordinator to support officers in filling in the Monthly Reporting Forms (MRFs).
  • Communicate and collaborate regularly with other RCs and TREES staff to share expertise and contribute to organizational improvement.
  • Collaborate with Director of Finance and Operations (DFP) to develop program strategies and annual Plan of Action and Budget for the country program.
  • Gather respective MEL reports from M&E department and provide feedback on potential areas of improvement and collaboration.
  • Serve as the primary line of communication on scheduling funds, coordinating flows within their area of jurisdiction for field operations.

Regional Integration and Development Responsibilities 

  • Provides accurate, current, and timely information as requested for grant proposals and other fund-raising activities.
  • Provides accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date communications information as requested for marketing and outreach, reporting, and other publication materials.

Project Liaison Responsibilities 

  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with relevant government offices at all levels in accordance with TREES goals and priorities.
  • Identifies and develops strategic partnerships with county and international corporations, development organizations and non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) involved in agroforestry or complimentary work
  • Attends and participates in relevant meetings, task forces, working groups, consortiums, and conferences relevant to TREES’ mission and objectives.

Administrative Responsibilities 

  • Ensures that TREES Regional program activities, processes, and staff adhere to both local and organizational laws and policies.
  • Carefully manages projects fiscal and human resources requirements for the Region in accordance with both the National/County government laws and TREES policies.
  • Any other responsibility as may be assigned from time to time by your supervisor.

  • Strategic and Proactive. You identify opportunities for partnerships and contribute to fundraising, grant proposals, and organizational reporting by providing accurate and timely information.
  • Compliance-Driven. You ensure that program activities and staff adhere to both local regulations and organizational policies, maintaining operational integrity and accountability.
  • Resourceful and Efficient. You effectively manage fiscal and human resources within the region, optimizing processes to align with national and county government laws and TREES policies.

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Forestry, Environmental Science, Agroforestry and Rural Development, Agriculture, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of full-time experience in a relevant role, demonstrating expertise in general project management.
  • Membership in a recognized professional association with a reputable organization is an added advantage.
