I received Christ as a teenager, and in those days, many young people would talk about role models. Many would point out to some worldly Hollywood stars as their role models , even though I was young, I always thought that was foolish. I wrote in my book, ” Jesus Christ is my role model.” If you are a Christian but your model is not Christ, then you are not living the Christian life. Jesus Christ called us to follow him. We are not to pattern our lives after our grandfather, uncle, or aunt . You should not claim anything that Jesus Christ does not claim. It’s wrong for you to live in fear, defeat , lack, want , pain , sin , sickness, being bound by debt, or death. The reason is that Christ is not living that way.
1 John 4:17 says ” Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.” Take away from you a language that seeks to identify you more with earthly people. The LORD JESUS was born of Mary but he still declared , ” For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.” John 6:38 Some folks pride themselves in their totems, some in the Villages they come from but that is all carnal . You shouldn’t have a temper like your old grandmother. You should be like Jesus Christ. The LORD JESUS has no generational curses , he has no asthma, diabetes or back pain, I also have none. What belongs to Christ is now mine. Romans 8:16-17 says ” The Spirit himself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.” The only thing we suffer is persecution.
From today, refuse to be anything that Jesus Christ is not. Refuse to be sick , weak, and defeated. Look up to him for inspiration. Let him be your model in life. Listen to his words and let his words be your words. Let his thoughts be your thoughts and his ways your ways.
