” Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.”
Eccl 9:16
We have too many foolish people who have money, and they are dictating to the world how things should go. Sometimes churches don’t have good sound systems, yet the bars and clubs have the best of the sound systems, and there is no humility in such things. If you don’t have money, you will work for sinners, and they may demand that instead of attending church ,you should be at work . In 1 Samuel 16:7 The LORD said unto Samuel,” ….for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.” Many folks run to say that God looks at the heart but they ignore the part that says, ” man looketh at outward appearance”. We are in a world of man. If you show up for evangelism looking scruffy and broke, most people may not be attracted to your message.
In winning our world, we are to control wealth if ever we are going to evangelise the world for Christ. It takes a lot of money to do the work of the ministry effectively. Organising crusades takes money, and not small money but big money. If, however, you are broke, you may even have a good heart but won’t be able to do all the things you would want to do for God. We should not encourage each other in poverty and want. It’s high time you know that it is an error for you to be poor. We have too many responsibilities for us to be broke. We need to send Bibles and Christian literature to dark regions of the earth, and we can only do that with money. If you don’t want money for yourself, it’s okay, but you should desire to have money for the sake of the kingdom work. We could write our opening scripture this way, ” …the poor man’s gospel is despised”. Refuse to be poor!
Present yourself so excellently that you attract people to you. Don’t look like you need help, look like the one who is to give help because that’s what God has called you to be. Don’t talk like a defeated man or woman. If you have 2 shirts, iron them and look like a king. Dress well, speak well, and let all you are be inviting people to your God. Have an excellent character this year. Remember, no-one is attracted to pain, sickness, weakness and defeat, if people have to be attracted to your gospel then your gospel should be a gospel of Life, health and healing, prosperity and Peace and this is what the Gospel of Jesus Christ is all about. It makes the blind to see, the lame to walk, and the dumb to speak. Be the manifestation and full representation of the gospel we preach.
