The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

• Maintaining lifting gear as well as rigging equipment and accessories for Shaft maintenance.
• Receiving daily schedules or verbal instructions from Supervisor as planned.
• Ensuring that tools/equipment used are left clean and tidy and stored in their proper places.
• Utilizing correct materials and consumables as specified.
• Ensuring safe dismounting and storage of lifting equipment after use.
• Ability to test rigging gear and equipment to ensure safety and reliability.
• Adhering to Statutory and Domestic Regulations on Health, Safety and Environment.
• Selecting appropriate rigging gear such as pulleys, slings and winches according to the load, weights and sizes.
• Giving appropriate rigging signals to workers engaged in hoisting and moving the loads to ensure safety of workers and material.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

• Grade 12 Certificate.
• Craft Certificate in Rigging.
• A Technician’s Certificate in Rigging will be an added advantage.
• Valid Membership of EIZ/ERB.
• Holder of a valid First Aid Certificate.
• High level of integrity and ability to meet deadlines.
• Must be physically fit and with necessary dexterity to work with tools.
• Have good oral and written communication skills.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar position.
• Must be conversant with working at height procedure.
